Bathampton gave me a workout I didn’t ask for. First, the van couldn’t squeeze past the cars parked along Down Lane 🛑—so we parked halfway to Bathampton Weir and carted boxes by hand. Then the rain came ☔, drenching both me and the mattress in one miserable swoop. But as soon as I crossed Bathampton Mill and caught the view over the River Avon 🏞️, spirits lifted. The kitchen boxes went in smoothly, but lugging the wardrobe up the tight stairs nearly finished me off. Thankfully, a kind neighbour pointed me toward The George Inn 🍺 for a celebratory pint afterwards—local ale never tasted so good. By the end, despite soggy socks and a few bruised knuckles, everything found its place. Bathampton—you tested me, but I made it through!
