Van & I is ready for moves, deliveries, clearances, and all types of local transport jobs. I cover the whole of Somerton — from Somerton Road to Fairfax Road — and I’m often working in nearby Liswerry, Maindee, and the city centre.
It might be a sofa run from a house near Somerton Park, picking up a washing machine from Newport Retail Park, or clearing out a garage off Henson Street. I know the estate layouts, the busy school-run traffic, and the best cut-throughs to keep things moving smoothly.
From home moves and small business deliveries to one-off pick-ups, I offer friendly, flexible, and professional van help right here in Somerton. Same-day bookings are no problem — just send me a quick message.
For more info or to arrange a job, check the homepage or use the contact link in the menu — I’ll respond quickly.
First delivery of the day? A flat on Somerton Road where the only parking space is, of course, directly under a “no stopping” sign ⛔. I chance it anyway—hazards on, sprint up two flights of stairs, and back before the warden appears. Victory 🏆.
Driving through Somerton takes me past the Somerton Park site—home to Newport County AFC’s history ⚽. I pause to imagine the roar of the crowds back in the day before nudging on through tight residential turns.
By mid-morning, I’m looping down Somerton Avenue, juggling sat-nav directions that make no sense. “Turn left” it says, into what looks suspiciously like an alley. Nope, not today. I swing around toward Chepstow Road, where I squeeze into a spot outside a corner shop for a quick coffee ☕ and chat with the shopkeeper about last night’s football.
The real workout comes with the flats near Beechwood Park 🌳. Three bulky parcels and no lift. Halfway up, I seriously consider adding “professional stair climber” to my CV. At least the view from the top floor makes up for it—rolling trees, kids playing, and the van looking very small below.
Somerton’s charm sneaks up on you: busy streets, friendly waves, and the occasional sarcastic driver honking while you block the lane unloading 🚚. By the end of the run, my arms ache, my patience is tested, but the job’s done. Somerton never makes it easy—but it does keep it memorable.
