Rumney has its hills, and today I felt every one of them in my calves 🏔️. The job started near Wentloog Road, with the van wedged awkwardly between two parked cars 🚚⛔. First load: a sofa heavier than it looked, destined for an upstairs room with stairs so narrow I questioned physics.
After a sweaty hour, I treated myself to a Greggs coffee ☕ near Rumney Hill. Back on the job, it was endless trips carrying boxes past curious neighbours and dogs that seemed to bark on cue 🐕. Rain, naturally, made an appearance – the kind that soaks you in 30 seconds ☔.
The win of the day? Managing to slot an entire dining table through a side gate with millimetre precision. By late afternoon, as I crossed Rumney Hill heading home, I caught a glimpse of the city skyline glowing in the distance 🌇. Moving days in Rumney? Gruelling, yes, but strangely rewarding.
