A Day on the Road in Bettws–Newport 🚐

Bettws mornings start with the climb up Monnow Way—a hill that has me praying the van doesn’t roll back 😬. My first drop is on a cul-de-sac where kids are already kicking a football ⚽, and I have to dodge stray passes while carrying parcels.

The estate is a maze. Every road seems to curve back on itself, and I swear the sat-nav is laughing at me 🤖. Deliveries near Bettws Lane are straightforward enough, but then come the tower blocks: lifts out of order, and I’m huffing boxes up endless stairs 🏋️.

By mid-morning, I detour past the Bettws Brook. It’s peaceful, and for five minutes I just sit in the cab with the window down, enjoying the quiet. Then my phone pings—more drops. Back to it.
